Reading Pride Celebration

reading-pride-celebration logoReading Pride Celebration and the Greater Reading Convention and Visitors Bureau wish to take this opportunity to welcome our LGBTQA visitors, conventioneers and/or potential residents to explore the various wonders of the Americana Region. If your interests are in shopping the many shops and boutiques, the factory outlets and the antique, flea or farmer’s markets will enchant you. If history fascinates you then Daniel Boone’s Homestead, Johanna  Furnace and Hopewell Village, not to mention finding out who was Conrad Weiser while exploring his Homestead are among many other points of interest.  If architecture is your forte take advantage of the many house and garden tours in the area, many in designated historic districts, one of which has proclaimed itself Reading’s Gayborhood, Centre Park. The arts abound here with a first class reading-pa-pagodaMuseum, numerous galleries, the GoogleWorks which is a working artistic/cultural studio center, a film festival, the renowned Berks Jazz Fest and a number of long standing theater groups. We have sports, a great minor league baseball team with a top notch stadium, a professional hockey team with a great arena, biking/walking/jogging trails galore, canoeing/kayaking sojourns, boating and many other opportunities. Not to mention the many fine restaurants, award winning wineries and micro-breweries. Dozens of food, cultural and community festivals occur every year including Reading Pride Celebration on the third Sunday of July in Historic Centre Park. What we are trying to say is that no matter what your interests, Greater Reading is the place to come, explore and find an adventure that suits your taste. Great stuff happens here!

Reading Pride Celebration and the Greater Reading Convention and Visitors Bureau have formed a partnership in furthering each other’s mission in the hope to present a warm and welcoming experience to the LGBTQA visitor, conventioneer and/or potential resident. To plan your Americana Region experience, find out what is happening on our events calendar, or contact us at 800-443-6610.
