Whether you’re looking to browse local art or you’re in the market for a truly original memento of your Berks County visit, you’ll likely find it at Art Plus. One of Berks County’s most popular galleries, this artist-run cooperative showcases the work of 25 painters, jewelers, potters, photographers, sculptors, fabric artists–one-of-a-kind originals reflecting the spectrum of fine art media, genre, scale and price.
The artwork in the main gallery changes every two months, with a new featured exhibit each month.
Like the hanging artwork, jewelry and sculpture in the main gallery, most of the items in our gift shop are also one-of-a-kind originals–wall hangings, woodcrafts, ceramics, fabric creations and more, along with an array of prints and note cards–all by our member artists and local friends of the gallery.
The gallery is located in the heart of West Reading, a social, cultural and dining hub for the region. Plan to spend a few hours in the neighborhood. In addition to the boutique shops lining Penn Avenue, you’ll find over two dozen restaurants and pubs within a mile of Art Plus.
Art Plus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1999, the gallery earned this status through its dedication to promoting art appreciation and participation throughout the Berks community in general, and among K-12 students in particular. The artist members donate 25% of their sales to the gallery and its community activities. The latter include the annual “Nature of Nolde” student art contest, internships, fellowships, coordinating Plein Air West Reading, and producing a map showing everywhere in Berks County where you can find and buy original artwork.
