Lost in the deep woods sheltering the Manatawny and Ironstone Creeks is a mythical secret valley. Before the Colebrookdale Railroad could take you there, only white-tailed deer, great blue heron, and bald eagles experienced the beauty of this legendary land once settled by the region’s frontier pioneers. The “Secret Valley Line” is your ticket to a place and time when iron rails connected a divided people and the heart of the nation pulsed with the potent energy of the steam locomotive and lives were being rebuilt following the Civil War. Construction was an epic record of engineering and human drama. Ride the rails to appreciate the beauty of this area and learn of the history.

The Colebrookdale Railroad offers a variety of experiences for your family.  Holiday events, such as the ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Train, which invites you to take the train ride while wearing pajamas and sipping on hot chocolate, and the Santa’s Polar Bear Express Train, which involves a ride with Santa to Santa’s Secret Forest, where you can pick a Christmas tree and have his loaded on the train, are all popular events.  The Eerie Limited train, will chill you with the haunted stories of The Secret Valley.  Many other train ride themes and events are options, for the theme-oriented, or for the scenery appreciators.

Not only is the scenery of the area beautiful, but the train cars are also exquisite. As a rider of the rails, you can choose to ride in the beautiful Garden Café car, which serves brunch, lunch or dinner, the Deluxe Coach car, the First Class Parlor Car, or the Secret Valley Explorer Open Car, which allows passengers to take in the scenery from an open car that provides near-360-degree panoramas of the sweeping valleys and natural beauty. For the true train lover, you could book a ticket to ride in the locomotive!  This gem of an attraction is sure to delight visitors of all ages!
