Don’t be surprised to see white-tailed deer or small game pop out of the underbrush or forest lands along the 8.9 miles of trails located in Pennsylvania State Game Lands 106 which traverses near Route 61 and Route 895 near Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Turkeys, grouse, rabbits, pheasants, squirrels, gray fox, raccoons, opposums, ducks and geese live among the vast acreage that includes many small streams along with the headwaters of Rattling Run and Pine Creek. Elevations climb to 1600 feet at the ridge of Blue Mountain and to 500 feet along the Schuylkill River.
